This beautiful area of Argyll has a long and varied history dating back many centuries including strong links to the Clan Campbell. During the mid 19th Century the village was a “Gunpowder Village”. With a ready supply of oak and an natural harbour it was ideally located for production and distribution of gunpowder which was a valuable commodity then. Most of the holiday properties bear names linked to their previous uses during the “Gunpowder” era or when the buildings formed part of the farm on the Melfort Estate.
General Manager Linda Brown and her team take care of guests before, during and after their stay and ensure that the village is kept in tip top condition.
“We are proud of Melfort Village and we look forward to welcoming our owners and guests back year after year” said Linda “My team ensure that our Cottages and facilities are kept beautifully clean and in first class working order.”
