Eating Out

Eating out is such an important part of any holiday and, with so much delicious fresh produce right on our doorstep, we are lucky to have so many great eating places to choose from. If you’re a lover of great seafood, game, beef and lamb and enjoy the rugged unspoiled coastline of our area you will enjoy exploring the many excellent eateries around Melfort Village as well as the wider Oban and Argyll area.

Here in the village we have the popular Room at the Top Restaurant & Bar at Melfort Village. Offering delicious locally sourced seasonal ingredients & seafood created into delicious dishes with Italian passion & flair, the friendly team are on hand to ensure you have a wonderful meal.  Full details of opening times and menus are available on our Room at the Top Restaurant & Bar page.

We are also delighted to recommend the following restaurants for eating out in our area:

Just along the road is Loch Melfort Hotel which offers fine dining in their 2AA Rosette restaurant & casual dining in the bistro. Open for Dinner between 12 noon and 2.30pm for lunch and 5.30pm and 9pm, both menus are available indoors. The bistro is open from 12 noon until 5pm working on a takeaway basis but you can eat your food in the lounge or decking area. Tables must be pre-booked.

The nearby Lord of the Isles restaurant is open dinner and serves fresh seafood, home made vegetarian dishes, steak, chicken, lamb and pork dishes as well as popular burger and salad selections.  The Lord of the Isles is open 7 days between 4.30pm and 10pm. Pre-booking is essential.

About half an hour drive south is Kilmartin Hotel which serves great Bar Meals and the restaurant features traditional Scottish and seafood dishes.

Another good spot for dinner is The Tayvalich Inn. It’s a 40 minute drive from Melfort Village.

Also in Oban, Piazza is the home of great pizza and pasta and are now offering a takeaway menu too.

In Easdale (10 miles towards Oban)  you will find the highly recommended, award winning Puffer Bar & Restaurant.  Restricted restaurant opening times during winter months.  They are located on the tiny, car free island of Easdale, near Oban.  They serve locally sourced produce, freshly prepared and served in friendly, relaxed surroundings.”

In our many great eating places you are sure to find a range of fine wines, beers and ales to accompany your meals.  A trip to Scotland would not be complete without tasting a whisky or two! Discover your favourite by visiting one of our distilleries in Oban, Argyll and the Isles.
